Snow Days

Today was our first day back to normalcy after our four day snow vacation!!  This was the first time the boys got to play in "real" snow and we all had a blast (Ryan & I included)!! Go figure this was the first year I did not buy the boys snow clothes because I would buy them every year and end up taking them to Goodwill every year with the tags still on because we never use them...  Luckily they both have good coats so we added a few pairs of sweatpants and socks and were good to go :)  We played for hours on our neighbors driveway and in the culdesac.  There was lots of sledding, snowboarding and a sad little snowman that looked a lot like Jabba the Hut...

way I could help them was if I paid them $100...
But when you pay the $100 to work there you
can eat as much snow as you want, what a deal!!!

We spent hours sledding with Keana, Roger &
Veronica and had everyone over for some hot
soup to warm up at the end of the day :)
 I just love the looks on their faces!  Pure joy!

to say they were just a little excited to have Jack here
to play in the snow for a bit that day!

Beach Trip

At the beginning of the summer Ryan signed up for a CLE that was being held at Salishan and we thought it would  be a fun weekend away for the family.  Sadly this was the first time the boys had ever been to a hotel and needless to say they were pretty stoked for the trip!  We had envisioned a long weekend playing on the beach, walking around, swimming etc.  Unfortunately it turned out to be the weekend that the coast had one of the biggest storms they have had in years...  The beaches were all closed and it was nearly impossible to walk around anywhere due to the crazy high winds, super hard rain and flooding!  The boys were awesome sports about it, luckily our hotel had a huge indoor swimming pool so we logged some serious hours there and we did manage to make it out a few times between/during the storms!

On the way back to the resort there was a break in the storm so
we stopped at the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse for a tour!

On Saturday I took them down to the beach.  We
stayed up on the sidewalk since they said to stay off
but the boys thought it was pretty cool anyway!
The wind was so crazy strong that it was pushing them
 along the concrete, crazy!

Happy "Talk like a Pirate" Day!

Today is national "Talk like a Pirate" day so we had to make an extra special trip to Krispy Kreme on our way to school for our free doughnuts for ordering like a pirate.  The boys were hilarious this year, they stayed up super late last night rehearsing the "pirate lines" they were going to use!  When we go there Noah immediately told the guy "give me a doughnut or I'll make you walk the plank" expecting the guy to just hand over a doughnut... Instead he drew his sword and said (in a super angry pirate voice) "arrrr, your not getting one of those from me!"  It scared the crap out of both boys, Silas hid behind me and Noah just said OK and started walking away.   I think the worker felt super bad, he apologized multiple times for scaring my kids :)

Once they had their doughnuts, all was forgotten!

Happy Birthday Noah #6

For Noah's 6th birthday he planned his entire Lego Star Wars party down to the decorations and favors.  We had lots of fun looking at Pinterest together and coming up with all kinds of fun ideas.  He also decided that he wanted to have a friends only party, no little brothers or sisters or parents just him and best pals!  We had some epic light saber battles, a scavenger hunt for all of the Star Wars planets, made paper R2D2s and whacked a Death Star pinata!!  Seven wild boys made for a pretty crazy afternoon but I think they all had a pretty fun time, I know the birthday boy sure did!!

First Day of School

Here are the boys on their first day of the 2013/2014 school year.  Noah is starting Kindergarten and Silas will be in Pre-K, both five days a week :)  We are super excited to be at the same school again this year, the boys both have amazing teachers and we are ready to get the school year started!!!
